zhong qiu jie.

2 out of jiang nan si da cai zi = 2 da nan ren
2 lanterns and a couple of candles
2 escorts to walk me back in the dark
2 lanterns to guide me in the dark
a pleasant surprise
a touching gesture
a simple yet meaningful mid autumn festival

random ramblings. more like grumblings.

Have you ever been so tired but just can’t fall asleep?

Ever been so stressed out by the mere mention or thought of somebody? (read: mark)

Ever been so thirsty, no matter how much water you drank, or how bloated you feel, but don’t feel satiated?

********************
I hate my neighbours at green blk. Not ms han. The OTHER neighbour. damn irritating voice. Just like a child. Eerie at times. Plain annoying otherwise.

In fact, apart from the lau zar bors(LZBs)..i really dislike all other neighbours. Especially the freshies. Somehow or other, they just annoy. Not just me. I am also speaking for the other LZBs. If they open their door, I am irritated. When they make a lot of noises outside my room, its intolerable. When they leave something in the toilet, I get angry. Why..they think the toilet is theirs meh? And may I know what SHIT did that person step on? Why must she SOAK her shoes in a bucket placed in 1 of the cubicles for so many days? So tempted to throw it, except that I just don’t want to touch it. And why is the girl always filling water into a small pail and hauling it back to her room? Why? Trying to steal our water to send back to china? A million whys…and even more irritating.

Look forward to yet dread tennis. Look forward to playing tennis. Dread it coz I am really really tired. Stressed. Busy. and buddy..i really wan the junk food Tees...but no time to see nice 1s..why don't u see if got any nice ones to recommend?

merlion. i am.

there are 2 new dirty words, which induce nausea in me (and probably my roomie too).

  • carls'junior burger
  • pacific coffee

on mon, we met up with the jiang nan 4 great scholars (colin, jon,cj and abel) for dinner. after that, rmie and i went back hall and thats the beginning for the nightnmare. rmie felt nauseous and felt like vomitting. so we retired to bed and in the morning, she told me she vomitted a few times towards morning. at the same time, i also don't feel too well, as i also felt nauseous and a i-can-vomit-anytime sensation. as a result, we wasted the whole of tues for we felt too sick to do anything except rushing to the toilet to vomit, lau-sai(for my rmie hahaha) and sleeping. we suspect that the green block girls must think that 1 of the green block girls is pregnant, as they can hear frequent puking noises in the cubicles throughout the day and night. i just can't keep anything down, not even water. and i really "merlion" till my limbs become jelly.

however 1 good thing which come out of this incident(or tragedy in our opinion) is that we realise how wonderful our friends are. v bought us lunch, sour plums and eno (ok..we ate and vommitted them out but still..a nice gesture), swee bought us dinner of ban bian (my fave! but i couldn't eat at all and force myself to take few bites for nutrition. but that caused the worst vommiting experience..totally..unstoppable and utterly disgusting..for those with a strong stomach, i don't mind offering a detailed graphic description. just call.), caroline offered to bring my rmie to see doc, jon offered to look after us and most touching of all is t, who bought medicine for us though hall5 was way out of the way for him.

therefore i would like to extend a grateful THANK YOU to my dear friends...and a sorry to those i bang seh...i missed out on zouk..but i just can't imagine myself vommitting at strangers.

What does your birth date say about you?

Your Birthdate: January 20

Your birth on the 20th day of the month adds a degree of emotion, sensitivity, and intuition to your reading.

The 2 energy provided here is very social, allowing you to make friends easily and quickly.
Yet you are apt to have a rather nervous air in the company of a large group.

You have a warmhearted nature and emotional understanding that constantly seeks affection.

You are very prone to become depressed and moody, as emotions can turn inward and cause anxiety and mental turmoil.

It can be hard for you to bounce back to reality when depression sets in.

When things are going well, you can go just as far the other way and become extremely affectionate.

Your birth on the 20th day of the month adds a degree of emotion, sensitivity, and intuition to your reading. eh..?

The 2 energy provided here is very social, allowing you to make friends easily and quickly. don't know about making friends easily and quickly...ple who really know me tend to know that i take AGES to warm up..
Yet you are apt to have a rather nervous air in the company of a large group. this is really true! i don't really like speaking in a large group, or drawing any attention to myself..
You have a warmhearted nature and emotional understanding that constantly seeks affection. do i seek affection constantly? i guess everyone does don't they? doesn't have to be physical kind but more in the emotional sense..however, i do believe that i can connect with certain people on an emotional level (SOME only hor..haha)

You are very prone to become depressed and moody, as emotions can turn inward and cause anxiety and mental turmoil. omg..how true is that! i really do get moodswings sometimes..and alot of times, its cj who tio..haha

It can be hard for you to bounce back to reality when depression sets in. true also..who can save me from that man..somebody, give me a bout of optimism pls..

When things are going well, you can go just as far the other way and become extremely affectionate. sounds gross...i don't think i am EXTREMELY affectionate..yucks!

hall 5 seniors JB trip!

last sat, about 20 seniors from hall5 set off to JB for a sumptious seafood dinner!

evil bus driver
most of us met up at bugis to take bus to woodlands checkpoint together...as usual, most ple are late, especially audrua and i..hehe..so all of us, in our semi-lok-kok wear(er...except for 1 person hehehehe) head for the bustop..in a dampening mood, the stupid bus driver cheated me of $1..u may tink its just $1 ma! but i was so pissed coz he was intentionally trying to cheat my $$! he actually STRETCH out his hand! man..juz thnking of it mkes me feel like vomitting on his bus. damn! but i juz couldn't summon up any vomit..

funny singaporeans
on our way to city plaza, we passed by Mei Zhen Xiang and most ple were lured by the fragrance of various snacks lik fried dumpling and char siew puff..OMG..is it just me or they don't sell such stuff in singapore? is it juz coz its so much frarant there! somehow it makes all of us salivate..nad then the guys saw secret recipe and went to eat some cheap cake..while the rest went to buy auntie anne's...jh said something which is q true..we come JB and we eat stuff which we can find in s'pore?

shopaholics alert
anyway we all decided to meet at 6.30pm to go for dinner, and we all split up to go shopping..actually..the girls went shopping..haha..if you've been there, you would have thought that hall 5 girls haven't shopped in months, coz we practically pounced on the shoe and clothes shops! haha and everyone went home with a bag. somehow, most of the girls seem to be possessed and made the rest wait till 7.30pm (i regret i didnt stick with them!!!! argh!!!!)...this made the guys vow never to bring us to shop again..EVER..

cheap sumptious dinner
we went da-ma-hua-yuan for seafood dinner..seated in a group of 8 of audrua,cm,rx,qianlu, becca, poh,jh and i, we ordered stuff like oyster omelette, kangkong, butter prawns, beggar chicken, hotplate beancurd, spring onion venison and sambal stingray and a mug of sugarcane each..we all almost burst our guts, and all we spent was 20ringgit each!! this was super value for money, and though we would like to eat more, we just couldn't.

girls shopping trip
we all felt v satisfied about the food, but the shopping was not shiok enough! so the girls decided to go again on a wed when school re-opens..haha can't wait!!

in all, i think the trip is very enjoyable, as everyone knew each other well enough, and its a group which click very well..mostly made up of people from my batch (cept for zeff and jh)..i especially enjoy the time spent with the girls, as the shopping really bind us! ha..

lao zar bo steamboat dinner at green block.

recently, i have to realise how much i treasure my life in hall5. the people i know, the way of life in hall, the gossiping sessions and political speculation..all these factors contribute very much to my university life. those who don't stay in hall wouldn't understand how much fun it can be (and how tedious it can be..). i guess i'm having such feelings coz i am about to graduate, in less than a year's time.

i think the friends i made in hall, the various groups of friends rather, they mean alot to me, in that they made me learn alot about judging a people and get me ready for life outside school walls. backstabbing, unity, misunderstandings, conflict, camaraderie, friendships, rumours, respect, bitchiness, kindness, loyalty..there are many lessons to be learnt.

the various groups are the welfare group 04(but everyone more or less left already..), exam study group(all are HEROES and they are all charming, handsome and chivalrous kekekeke), dnd group, havoc 05 and 04 group, dinner kakis(duo ke ai the mei gui hua..woo-wow-wow) and more recently, the lao zar bors(meaning, the senior girls in hall)

last thurs, the lao zar bors at green block decided to organise a steamboat dinner at green block 4th storey..right outside my room. there were about 9 of us: audrua (fenfen), qianlu, sh, jeannie(nini),huijun(junjun), han yiling, how yiling (howhow), rx(xianxian) and I(rongrong..YUCKS). we bought so much food that we had a very satisfying dinner..it is not so much the food that is great but the company. like what audrua said: it the right group of people..i totally agree with her! hehehe *evil grin*. i think if there are OTHER people, it won't be as fun. also coz we r lao zarbor, we were so proud that most of us didnt give the jcrc face and blatantly NOT attend the investiture. we prepared the food together, laughed and joked and chatted throughout the dinner, and clean up together afterwards. then we had yoghurt ice-cream for dessert!! haha we gathered in my room and talk nonsense. we were so proud of our lao zar bor status that we came up with our own "greeting" and disgusting nicknames..after that, everyone left and got back to school work! by then, it was already 12plus..everyone had a great time, and it was evident from everyone's msn nicks! haha and we all agree that it was a great gathering..

where can u get such great food, great company for just $4.50 per person?

heels are not meant for feet

i treasure walking with my heels touching ground. truly i do. whenever i put on a pair of heels, one or more of the following will occur:

1. sprain
2. blisters
3. feet ache
4. knee ach
5. embarrassment
the million dollar question is, why do women torture themselves in this manner? at first look, it can be attributed to vainity. however, on further inspection, the reason stems much deeper. it seems to be that the pain is inflicted, albeit indirectly, by men.
  • to appear sexier/more desirable i.e. longer legs
  • boost confidence - makes you question why. i guess it can be reasoned that its a common perception that taller women are better lookers
  • to appear more presentable. again, here we must define what is presentable. it is defined by the common perception of society.

poor women and their feet..knees..come to think of it, i can identify another instance of tortuous beauty inflicted by society.in the past, women born to affluent families in china had to bind their feet. it is seen as desirable, beautiful and befitting a status of a lady. parents will impose this "disability" on their daughters, in order to inprove chances of securing marriage contracts. I term it a disability, as these ladies definitely face difficulty walking about, and the binding process, which takes many years, inflicts much pain. imagine restricting the natural growth of your feet and joints! notwithstanding the pain, discomfort and inconvenience, the feet is bound in the binds for years, and results in foul-smelling and distorted feet. oh the poor fate of women over time. its the same torture in different forms.

am i going to fall in love?

the following is my horoscope for the week...

"You should find that you are especially lucky with money at the start of this week. This could be linked to a new romance that will develop as a result of a small windfall. It is likely that a chance encounter with a stranger, will develop quickly and easily into a romance, this encounter seems to be linked with you gaining money in an unusual way. It is perhaps possible that you will find some money that this stranger has lost, in returning it to the rightful owner, the relationship will develop. The instant attraction that will be mutually felt between the two of you will soon develop into a significant and very long lasting affair."
