Italy and France

here's a closer look at the interior of the colloseum..i still can't spell the name..in the past, the circular area is the basement of the fighting arena. animals like lions and elephants are kept down there and kept in the dark and starved, so that they will be hunger, fierce and desperate enough to fight the gladiators and give the audience a good (and extremely bloody) show

in rome especially, which is surrounded byunderground springs, there are fountains everywhere and we fill our bottles from these springs. the water is usually cold and definitely drinkable. here i am desperately trying to quench my thirst at one of the fountains in the vatican city.

ok, i forced xuelun to do this. since i am too short to do this picture, i insisted that someone EAT the buildings on my behalf.

basically, what we did in florence is shown above. yes, we queue..and queue..because the interesting stuff are mostly museums which housed famous art works like the sculptures of david(esp. the 1 by michaelangelo the ARTIST, not ninja turtle). Can you spot us in the queue?

everywhere we go, we see david (from the legend/myth david vs. goliath)..in museums, on a hill, by the sea and in a square..the original and most famous one is by mchaelangelo is at the top right corner.
